Nine lives in letters

Re "Index": the author notes that "there were not figures enough to set an Index 'by the years.' When frustrated, look Inside. There's no index to life." No pagination, but the letters go from 1880 to 1930, according to the author; however, the first letter is dated 1881 and the last, 1929. Two illustrations decorate the book: the frontispiece is a linoleum-block cut by Paul Honore of Ivan Swift; the second is by Swift himself, entitled "The Approach." 150 copies of the book were printed by Swift's press and hand. This book was signed by the author and dedicated "All hand-made - you know it, Harold Pulsifer. Forgive it." Dated Sept. '45. The book is bound in tan paper with 1/4 dark brown cloth on spine. The title is in deep green on the front cover with the phrase (limited to 150 copies) underneath the title.
